The Wigley Group proudly supports the UK Armed Forces and has signed the Armed Forces Covenant.
The covenant is a statement of mutual support between the civilian and local armed forces communities that seeks to ensure those who serve or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated with fairness and respect, and have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen.
Since 2013 we have raised funds for military charities and in 2017 we established the Wigley Support Fund (WSF) to support and help re-train injured serving and veteran service people in all areas of their transition from military to civilian life, such as physical and mental rehabilitation to further education and skills training.
We have employed many ex-servicepeople since the company was first established in 1964 and one of the driving forces behind the WSF is our brand ambassador Jaco van Gass, a former paratrooper who served two tours of Afghanistan during five years in the Parachute Regiment. Jaco overcame life-changing injuries on the front line to become a champion para-cyclist and adventurer.
Our own company values align well with those of the British Army, so being signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant is a formalisation of our long and mutually beneficial promise to support of ex-service men and women.
