Wishing our Operations Manager, Bill Watts a happy retirement

This week we say a fond farewell to our Operations Manager, Bill Watts after 5 years with The Wigley Group.

Bill has had a varied career, serving in the Royal Signals for 22 years from 1974 to 1996 then going on to work in a parcel distribution centre as a Depot Manager from 1996 – 2014. After opting for voluntary redundancy from his last role and making the decision to take early retirement, he was persuaded to join us as our Facilities Coordinator in 2015.

A world away from his previous roles, Bill was responsible for maintenance of our portfolio properties and offices until 2017 when he took on the role of Operations Manager after we purchased our HQ, Stockton House.

We have Bill to thanks for the near seamless transition from our offices in Coventry to Stockton. Bill managed our move as an entire business, no mean feat when moving nearly thirty employees to a building that at the time was unfinished. For the last two years he has worked tirelessly to get Stockton House up and running, conquering all the obstacles along the way and leaving us with the beautiful HQ we work from today. Bill’s work ethic and skills are testament to him and he has single handily proven that a career can span a manner of different industries and roles throughout working life.

It is safe to say that Bill’s infectious positivity and humour will be greatly missed by all of us at The Wigley Group and we all wish him a wonderful retirement and well earned rest!
