2021 has been a significant year for our business and I want to focus on something that for me is the most important factor of everything we do — our people.
At the start of the year we began an internal review of our business with the intention of laying firm foundations and setting a clear direction for what we want to achieve in the coming years.
Key to that was our workforce. We created a number of new roles that were filled through internal promotions and continued to strengthen the team by recruiting and nurturing new and young talent to complement those with huge experience already within our ranks. That has included revamping and extending our Graduate Scheme to provide even better opportunities for young people to make their first and most important career steps.
As well as investing in our people, we’re also investing in ourselves with work now underway on an extension to our headquarters.
It was back in 2019 that we completed the restoration of Stockton House, a once lavish country home, that became our headquarters. Since then we’ve been working on plans to create the best environment where our growing teams would be able to thrive, personally and professionally, and play their part in driving the continued growth of all areas of our business.
After what has been a busy year in which we’ve continued to work in challenging environments due to the pandemic, we now look forward to some much-needed down time when we can all switch off our phones and shut down our computers for a few days and take a well-earned break with our family and friends, before we come back in 2022 refreshed and ready to do it all again!
To my teams and our valued clients & partners, and those in our supply chains, I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
