The Wigley Group named as winners in Chamber Business Awards

The Wigley Group has been recognised for its impact in the community after being named as regional winners in the prestigious Chamber Business Awards.

The company scooped ‘The Community Champion – Community Business of the Year Award’ in the regional heat of the Chamber Business Awards 2022.

New for this year, the category celebrates organisations which facilitate, participate, and enable community engagement, demonstrating the power of giving back.

Wigley has had another year of tremendous work in the community, hosting fundraising initiatives which will have donated almost £50,000 to good causes this year alone.

It has also proudly supported several community groups and events, providing continued sponsorship to Leamington Cricket Club, as well as a two-day riding event at Princethorpe College near Rugby.

The company was nominated for the award by the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, with regional winners judged by an independent panel and now going on to contest the National Awards in October.

Chief Executive Officer of The Wigley Group James Davies said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce for their continued support.

“As a company we take great pride in our corporate social responsibility and it is hugely important to us to support our local communities, so this really does mean a lot.”

The Wigley Group’s work in the community this year has seen it host two charity fundraising events, raising more than £19,500 at its first ever Property Raceday for The Myton Hospices, and a further £19,500 at its popular Golf Day and Gala Dinner for The Wigley Support Fund in aid of Support Our Paras.

Wigley is also sharing a slice of £10,000 funding through the Wigley Community Fund, which was set up in 2021 to support good causes within a five-mile radius of its offices in Stockton, Warwickshire, helping organisations ranging from local cricket clubs, an after-school club, and a not-for-profit company which supports young people and adults into employment.
