Accounts Assistant, Alexis Considine wins apprentice of the year at Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2019

The Wigley Group’s high-flying accounts assistant Alexis Considine has been crowned Apprentice of the Year at the Coventry Telegraph Business Awards 2019.

Alexis was announced as the winner at a gala ceremony at the Ricoh Arena, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Awards celebrating the success stories of businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Alexis, who was sadly unable to attend the ceremony due to holiday, said: “I am absolutely over the moon to win Apprentice of the Year.  It is a huge honour and privilege and I would like to congratulate all of the winners and those shortlisted.”

Lisa Bristow, head of finance at The Wigley Group, and colleagues Jean Swidryk, Jessica Wood and Nicola Cook attended the ceremony hosted by broadcaster and presenter Jeremy Vine, and collected the Award on behalf of Alexis.

Lisa said: “I am so thrilled and proud of Alexis winning such a prestigious award.  It is fantastic recognition for her achievements and the remarkable contribution she continues to make to The Wigley Group.”

Graeme Brown, editor of the Coventry Telegraph, said: “This year’s awards proved a fitting occasion for us to reflect and celebrate a roll of honour that contains the names of the very best in business in this city and region.”
